The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday

Amazing book that offers mindset and how to handle adversities. We experience adversities within business and everyday life. There is a formula for success that’s been followed by the icons of history. Faced with impossible situations, they found the astounding triumphs we all seek. These men and women were not exceptionally brilliant, lucky, or gifted. Their success came from timeless philosophical principles laid down by a Roman emperor who struggled to articulate a method for excellence in any and all situations. This book reveals that formula for the first time – and shows us how we can turn our own adversity into advantage.

Real Estate Update

• Officially closed on the 16 unit apartment last week. We are in the process of taking over the property. The first 3 months are tumultuous. It’s very management intense, so we are relying on our property management team to get things in order (i.e. showing tenants how to pay their rent using the portal system, checking on the property and tenants, etc).

• We actually have another 12 units under contract! My team and I are paying real close attention to interest rates rising. Multi-family is the best hedge to beat inflation and some of these interest rates. It’s still expensive for single family homes, people are choosing to rent more right now. Finding these deals are becoming harder, so we are marketing more.
